{ Can I design my own wedding cake?

| We actually prefer you to design your own wedding cake. Your wedding cake should be a unique reflection of your wedding day. However if there is a cake we have previously made that you like, we can make any changes you want to customize it for you.

{ Can we copy a design out of a magazine or off of a web site?

| If you bring us a picture we will do our best to contact the original designer, out of respect for other cake decorators, for permission to duplicate that cake. If we cannot get in contact with the original designer or the original designer is unknown, we will do our best to create a similar cake for you.

{ What is fondant?

| Fondant is an icing medium that is rolled out to cover each entire tier of cake giving it a smoother look then buttercream.

{ I heard fondant does not taste good.

| This is true for certain, less expensive, store bought fondants
We use three different types of fondant:

| A dark chocolate fondant that tastes like Tootsie Rolls.
| A better quality, store bought vanilla fondant.
| It is also popular to flavor your fondant to compliment the the flavor of cake you choose (i.e., lemon, raspberry, etc).

{ How far in advance do I need to order my wedding cake?
(for more details see downloadable document: What to Expect at a Wedding Cake Tasting)

| You should order your wedding cake as far in advance as possible to ensure you can reserve the date of your wedding for your cake delivery. The longer you wait, the less availability we may have. If we don’t have the date booked, the latest you can schedule your cake tasting is one month before your wedding. You will need to contact us six (6) weeks prior to your wedding to schedule your cake tasting.

{ How far in advance do I need to order a non-wedding cake?

| Like wedding cakes, you should order a non-wedding cake as far in advance as possible to ensure you can reserve the date of your event for your cake delivery. If we don’t have the date booked, the latest you can order a non-wedding cake is two week prior to your event.

{ Can I pick up my wedding cake?

| No, you cannot pick up your wedding cake. We insist on delivering the cake because there are finalizing details that need to be done on the cake once it is set up and we may have to touch up/fix anything that breaks during travel. The minimum cake delivery fee is $30, depending on the delivery distance.

{ Who decorates the wedding cake table?

| You are responsible for decorating the wedding cake table. When we deliver the cake, all that should be required of us is to set up the cake on the table.

{ Who serves the wedding cake?

| Whoever caters your reception will usually serve your cake, although they may charge you a serving fee. You will have to check with your caterer to confirm, as some will insist that you purchase their cake. If you are not having your reception catered, you should designate a person to cut and serve your cake. We will include instructions on cutting the cake when we deliver the cake.

{ Can I reserve my date now and order my cake later?

| Yes, but we require a $75 non-refundable deposit to reserve your date. This fee will be applied to your total cake order.

{ How large is a serving size for a wedding cake?

| Our cake serving size for a wedding cake is 1” x 3” x the height of your cake.

{ Why are our servings per tier less than Wilton’s?

| The number of servings per tier on the Wilton serving chart is based off of a 1” x 2” serving size. You can cut our cakes smaller than we suggest and get more servings per tier. We will still only charge for the number of 1” x 3” servings you get out of each tier.

{ Can I make changes after I order the cake?

| Yes, see downloadable Wedding Contract for details.
